Retro 2D side-scrolling adventure game

Hayfever is a 2D side-scrolling platform created by the team at Pixadome. Similar to their other games, Hayfever boasts a retro appeal due to its intentionally pixelated appearance. The associated environments and mechanics are also somewhat similar to classic bundles, such as Sonic the Hedgehog.

Players will take on the role of a mailman who has severe allergies. The goal is to collect all of the letters that he has misplaced by exploring and completing a series of two-dimensional environments. It is possible to obtain power-ups during gameplay. These will enable players to perform additional actions, such as jumping over NPCs and climbing walls.

A modern take on traditional side-scrolling games

Hayfever is reminiscent of games released during the early 1990s, such as Super Mario Brothers and Ninja Gaiden. The levels themselves are quite challenging, and they naturally become more difficult as players progress. Nonetheless, in-game save options are made available at regular intervals.

Great for speed running enthusiasts

The fast-paced design of Hayfever is suited for fans of speed running. This becomes even more challenging for those who also wish to obtain collectible items that are found throughout each level. While Hayfever is classified as a side-scroller, note that the character will also have to perform vertical and diagonal jumps on occasion.

Unique powers and talents

The main character will have to rely upon his allergies to negotiate different obstacles. For instance, sneezing will provide jumping power, while smog causes the player to float. Employing these tactics at various times is key in terms of progression.

A fun twist on classic platformers

The laid-back nature of Hayfever ensures that it is suitable for the entire family. Its nostalgic flavor likewise adds a sense of classical excitement. Similar to 16-bit classics, such as Hyper Dragon Ball Z, Hayfever is both engaging and entertaining.

Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
